Picked out of 762 entriescreated between 2011 and June 2014 by young artists aged 18-35, thepieces illustrate various imaginative approaches to techniques andtopics that intertwine and create a unique material entity.
Thetriennial event, running between August 20 and September 5, is toencourage creativity and honour artworks featuring contemporary lifethrough the lenses of young Vietnamese artists, said Deputy Minister ofCulture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien at the opening ceremony.
As a joint effort between the Department of Fine Arts, Photography andExhibition and the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, the festival willhonour winning entries with one first prize, two second prizes, threethird prizes, 10 consolation prizes and many other valuables.
The first festival of this kind was held in 2007.-VNA
