Tokyo (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu on December 19 presented the ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) with a certificate of merit conferred by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in recognision of its meaningful contributions to fostering cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
Hieu commended the AJC and its Secretary-General Dr. Kunihiko Hirabayashi for their important roles in enhancing the bilateral ties.
He expressed his hope that under Dr. Kunihiko’s leadership, the AJC would launch more initiatives to deepen the bilateral collaboration and achieve tangible results.
Dr. Kunihiko expressed his gratitude for the recognition, emphasising the AJC’s dedication to strengthening economic, cultural, and social connections between the two nations.
Over the years, the AJC has actively promoted cooperation in areas such as sustainable development, trade, and investment. Key initiatives include connecting Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with Vietnamese local authorities to address economic and social challenges through innovative solutions like green supply chains and smart logistics.
This acknowledgment reinforces the AJC’s commitment to fostering impactful partnerships.
Dr. Kunihiko reaffirmed the AJC’s mission to advance cooperation, contribute to Vietnam’s dynamic development, and strengthen the irreplaceable partnership between the two countries.
