Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary To Lam has lauded Party committees and inspection commissions at all levels for their achievements in the Party inspection and supervision work since the beginning of the tenure and throughout 2024, saying that they have been contributing to fortifying the Party building and rectification, ensuring a strong and clean political system and bolstering the trust of officials, Party members and citizens in the Party.

General Secretary Lam made the praise while chairing the national conference of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat in Hanoi on December 19. The hybrid event was connected with 63 locations from the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission, municipal and provincial Party committees and those under the centrally-run agencies.

He stressed that the period leading up to end of the current term is crucial for completing the tasks outlined in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the 12th Party Central Committee’s Resolution 18 on streamlining the political system to make it more elite, streamlined, effective and efficient, as well as other resolutions on Party building and rectification, as part of preparations for the Party congresses at all levels in the lead-up to the 14th National Party Congress.

The Party committees, organisations and inspection commissions at all levels were asked to continue with concerted measures to prevent and strictly handle violations and negative phenomena in the principle of no forbidden zones, no exceptions, strengthen the building of a stronger and more pure Party to meet requirements in the new context.

They must also seriously, effectively and promptly follow the directives of the Politburo, Secretariat, and Party committees at all levels, as well as directions and conclusions of the Central Steering Committee on prevention and control of corruption, wastefulness and negative phenomena. Focus should be placed on thoroughly inspecting and strictly fining any Party organisations or members who violate regulations, particularly in cases under the watch of the Steering Committee, according to the Party chief.

The leader proposed urgently restructuring and streamlining the inspection commission apparatus, ensuring that it is unified, streamlined, strong, effective and efficient while the contingent of inspectors at all levels must have necessary qualities and capabilities.

The Party Central Committee's Inspection Commission was tasked with urgently reviewing and consulting to propose timely amendments and supplements to the Party's regulations on inspection and supervision, ensuring they align with the new Party organisation model nationwide.

To improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the Party inspection, supervision and discipline work, the Party chief requested continued renovation in methods and approaches, acceleration of digital transformation and application of modern technology.

As preparations for the 14th National Party Congress have been accelerated, the General Secretary underscored the necessity for active involvement in drafting relevant documents, urging subcommittees and working teams to ensure comprehensive and thorough planning./.
