Asia-Pacific Innovation Centre opens in Thailand

Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The newly-established Asia-PacificInnovation Centre is expected to foster a culture of creativity and innovationacross sectors.

Recently introduced in Bangkok, the centre mirrors closecooperation between the Thai government and the United Nations DevelopmentProgramme (UNDP). Its aim is to develop creativity and innovation among thegeneral public, the private sector, the education sector, and governmentalagencies. 

The centre allows learners to invent, create new knowledge,and incorporate newly-discovered development methods across the Asia-Pacificregion into everyday operations. It brings together like-minded persons to makethe world a better place through innovation. 

Tossaporn Sirisamphan, Secretary-General of the NationalEconomic and Social Development Board (NESDB), said the government has beenpromoting innovative technologies in many sectors such as automobile, food,fashion, and the software industry. As a result, Thailand has been chosen asAsia’s learning centre for innovative mechanisms to address poverty,inequality, and climate change. 

The Asia Pacific Innovation Center is located inside theUnited Nations’ regional headquarters in Bangkok.-NNT/VNA
