Bac Ninh (VNA) – Construction began on December 19 on the second phase of the Que Vo II Industrial Park infrastructure development project in the northern province of Bac Ninh, with Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra attending the ground-breaking ceremony.
The project is among key works launched to mark the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Addressing the event, Chairman of the Bac Ninh provincial People’s Committee Pham Hoang Son said the project will help expand industrial development space and meet demand for new investment projects, particularly high-tech and environmentally friendly ones. It is also expected to contribute to completing a modern and synchronised industrial infrastructure system aligned with sustainable development, creating jobs, increasing budget revenues and promoting local economic growth.
He urged the investor and construction units to mobilise maximum resources, ensure construction quality, labour safety and environmental protection, and coordinate closely with local authorities to ensure seamless infrastructure connectivity. Priority should be given to attracting large-scale, high-tech and environmentally friendly secondary projects, he added.
The project has a total investment of more than 3 trillion VND (about 114 million USD). Covering over 277 hectares, the industrial park includes 194 hectares for factories and warehouses, four hectares for administrative and service facilities, 30 hectares of green space and around 40 hectares for transport infrastructure.
Designed as a modern, green and sustainable industrial park in line with international standards, the project is expected to become a key driver for Bac Ninh’s socio-economic development. Strategically located along National Highway 18, it enjoys strong connectivity to major transport routes, helping investors optimise logistics and enhance competitiveness./.
