The Belgian province of East Flanders will promote cooperation with Lam Dong province in agriculture and safe vegetable and flower farming, East Flanders Deputy Governor Marc De Buck affirmed at a meeting with the Central Highlands province’s leaders on November 19.

Buck said that the cooperation is implemented based on a Memorandum of Understanding the two provinces signed in March, 2011.

Under the project, East Flanders will help the province apply high biotechnology in planting, train technicians and transfer new agricultural techniques to farmers.

Lam Dong sent some officials to Belgium to learn experiences and high-tech agricultural models of the country.

In the coming times, a group of Belgian experts will also come to Lam Dong to assist the province in dealing with difficulties and challenges in the cultivation of vegetables and decorative plants.-VNA
