Binh Phuoc boosts trade ties with Cambodian locality

The southern province of Binh Phuoc and Cambodia’s province of Kampong Cham on April 8 jointly opened a border crossing to facilitate two-way trade and their socio-economic development and ensure security and defence in the two localities.

The crossing, located in thearea between Loc Tan commune, Loc Ninh district, and Cambodianprovince’s Tuan Lung commune, Mi Mot district, aims to further enhancemutual solidarity and understanding towards the comprehensivecooperation and development between the two countries and the twoprovinces in particular.

Chairman of Binh Phuoc People’sCommittee Nguyen Van Tram asked the two sides to send staff to check andcontrol trading activities through the border crossing as well ascreate favourable conditions for their businesses and organisations toboost import-export activities.

He added that priority isgiven to accelerating the operations of quarantine stations inaccordance with agreements signed by the two Governments, raising theeffectiveness of bilateral cooperation, ensuring security along borderareas, and boosting the prevention of smuggling, illegal immigration,and drug-related crimes.-VNA
