As many as 230 handicraft businesses from 23 provinces and cities nationwide are displaying their wares at the Hanoi Gift Show 2013, which opened in Hanoi on October 26.

Organised by the municipal Department of Industry and Trade, the four-day event also attracted several businesses from Thailand and Taiwan.

On showcase are handicraft and fine art products, interior and exterior decorations, furniture, textile and embroidered products, gifts and jewelry.

In addition, the event also introduces products manufactured by participating villages in the “One Tambon, One Product” movement deployed in several Asian countries such as Vietnam , Thailand , Malaysia , Laos, Japan and India .

About 500-600 importers from the United States , Europe Union, Japan, and Australia are expected to come to the s how to seek suppliers.

As part of the city’s efforts to lure more foreign importers to the event and facilitate their business during the fair, the importers will be provided with free accommodations and transport from the airport to the city.-VNA
