Phnom Penh (VNA) Cambodia and China pledged to reinforce and expand their bilateral strategic partnership during the state visit to Cambodia by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

At meetings between Li and top Cambodian officials, the two sides discussed their bilateral relations and regional and global issues of mutual concern and reached consensus in many matters.

They agreed to strengthen cooperation in all areas and develop the ties towards the common wishes and core benefits of their people.

On the East Sea issue, both sides urged involved parties to effectively, fully implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and step up consultation on the Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC).

Cambodia and China signed 19 bilateral agreements after the meetings.

Li made a visit to Cambodia after co-chairing the second Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Summit, which wrapped up in Phnom Penh on January 10, with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techno Hun Sen.-VNA
