Trade between Cambodia and Japan has been growing rapidly over recently, surpassing 1 billion USD last year, a 29 percent increase from 2013, according to the Cambodian Development Council.
Cambodia earned 776 million USD from exports to Japan in 2014, up 32 percent year-on-year, with the main earners being agro-aquatic products, garment-textiles and rice.
Meanwhile, it bought 255 million USD worth of goods from Japan, up 21 percent.
Since 2012, Japanese investment into Cambodia has also seen an annual increase of over 30 percent, hitting 585.5 million USD in the three-year period from 2012-2014, accounting for 70 percent of total Japanese investment in the Southeast Asian country so far.-VNA
