Senior officials from China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will hold their annual meeting in China’s eastern city of Nanjing on June 24 and 25, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang announced on June 22.

Assistant to Chinese Foreign Minister Hu Zhengyue and deputy foreign ministers of ASEAN countries will attend the meeting, Xinhua news agency said, citing the spokesman as saying.

They are scheduled to discuss China-ASEAN relations as well as regional and international issues of common concern, the agency added.

Founded in 1967, ASEAN comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam./.
