Da Nang (VNA) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Da Nangcity (VFF Da Nang) has carried out many activities to support local poor andethnic minority people.

Vice President of the VFF Da Nang NguyenDang Hai told the committee’s conference on July 16 that the organisationimplemented numerous practical activities in the first half of 2018.

Specifically, the committee presented 450Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts worth 281 million VND (12,200 USD) to familiesbelonging to Co Tu and Hoa ethnic minority groups and poor households in HoaVang district, along with 3,450 gifts worth more than 1.7 billion VND (73,700USD) to the poor in the city during a New Year festival.

The committee’s district, ward and communechapters also mobilised resources to grant 50,170 presents worth 26.5 billionVND (1.15 million USD) to local poor people.

Additionally, the municipal front spent 3.38billion VND (147,000 USD) from the “For poor people” fund on building 64 housesand repairing 45 houses for poor families.

Units also intensified disseminations onfood hygiene and safety, crime prevention and firefighting to raise publicawareness of these issues.-VNA

Dak Lak supports fishermen in occupational transition

As of December 5, 2025, Dak Lak had 2,556 fishing vessels, with an annual marine catch of around 68,000 tonnes. An estimated 2,900 workers are in need of occupational transition, as most have limited educational backgrounds, unstable incomes and are increasingly ageing.
