Hanoi (VNA) – The Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee has decided to impose disciplinary measures against Nguyen Ba Canh, former member of the municipal Da Nang Party Committee and former permanent deputy head of the committee’s Mass Mobilisation Department.
The decision was made at the Secretariat’s meeting in Hanoi on May 14.
After taking into account the proposal made by the CPV Central Committee’s Inspection Committee on May 6, 2019, the Secretariat found that during his time holding these positions, Canh, who has married, was having an extra-marital affair, shared a son, and was living with a woman other than his wife – conditions which violate laws on marriage and family.
Canh’s behaviour also infringed the CPV Central Committee’s regulations stipulating what Party members cannot do as well, as regulations of the Party Secretariat and municipal Da Nang Party Committee on the responsibility of officials and Party members to set moral examples, especially key leaders and heads of agencies at all levels.
His wrongdoings are considered serious, adversely affecting the reputation of Party organisations.
Based on the Politburo’s Regulation No.102-QD/TW dated on December 15, 2017 disciplining violating Party members, the Secretariat decided to dismiss Canh from all of his Party positions.–VNA
