On January 22, 2026, the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam devoted the day to personnel work and elected the 14th-term Party Central Committee.
Over the decade from 2006 to 2015, under the Party’s leadership, Vietnam overcame major challenges, moved beyond underdevelopment, and joined the ranks of middle-income developing countries. Political and social stability was maintained, social welfare strengthened, international integration deepened, and Vietnam emerged as an active and responsible member of the international community.

The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam convened its preparatory session on the morning of January 19 at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi. The Congress will take place from January 19 to 25, 2026 with the participation of 1,586 delegates representing over 5.6 million Party members nationwide.
Before the opening of the preparatory session of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, delegates visited the photo exhibition “Under the Party’s leadership – the nation enters a new era”, organised by the Vietnam News Agency in Hanoi on January 19.
On the morning of January 19, 2026, following a tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum and an incense-offering ceremony at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs, Party General Secretary To Lam, along with other Party and State leaders and delegates to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, arrived at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi for the preparatory session.
From 1946 to 1960, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese army and people won a resounding victory in the resistance war against French colonialists. On February 3, 1930, the Communist Party of Vietnam was founded. Under the founding and nurturing leadership of Nguyen Ai Quoc, President Ho Chi Minh, the Party steered the Vietnamese revolution through immense hardships and severe trials, achieving great victories. One of the most brilliant milestones in the Party’s more than 95-year history was its leadership of the struggle to seize power from 1930 to 1945.
Hanoi Police have conducted drills on convoy escort and vehicle arrangement plans to serve the 14th National Party Congress. The plans are implemented in a coordinated and scientific manner, ensuring absolute security and safety, smooth traffic flow, and minimal disruption to the daily life of the public.
The Phu Tho provincial police have organised intensive training for the special police force, combined with drills to ensure security and public order for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The Dao Quan Chet are a small subgroup of Vietnam’s Dao ethnic community, with a long history of settlement in the northern mountains. Ha Son village in Ngoc Lac commune, home to the largest Dao Quan Chet community in Thanh Hoa province with 263 households and a population of 1,086, is entering the festive atmosphere of their traditional Tet as residents clean their homes, arrange ancestral altars and prepare offerings following the harvest season.
