Hanoi (VNA) - The National Assembly (NA) began the process ofelecting, relieving, and approving high-ranking personnel of the State, the NA,and the Government on March 30 during its 11th session.

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said thelegislature will conduct the process and procedures of electing, relieving, approvingseveral leaders of State offices, as regulated by the Constitution, the Law onOrganisation of the National Assembly, and the Law on Election of Deputies tothe National Assembly and People’s Councils, including the NA Chairperson, the Chairpersonof the National Election Council (NEC), NA Vice Chairpersons, members of the NAStanding Committee, Vice Chairpersons and several members of the NEC, the StatePresident, Vice State President, the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers,several ministers, and other members of the Government.

On behalf of the NA Standing Committee,Standing Vice Chairwoman of the NA Tong Thi Phong delivered the committee’sreport on the dismissal of the NA Chairperson and the NEC Chairperson.

Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, member of the 12th-tenurePolitburo, was elected as NA Chair at the first session of the 14th legislatureand as the NEC Chair at the ninth session.

The report affirmed that Ngan fulfilled herassigned tasks during her tenure.

NA deputies then discussed in groups thedismissal of the NA Chairperson and the NEC Chairperson.

In the afternoon, the NA is expected to conductthe process of dismissing the NA Chairperson and the NEC Chairperson.

After that, the NA Standing Committee willsubmit a list of nominees for the legislature to fill the two posts.

Also on March 30, Vice State President Dang ThiNgoc Thinh presented the State President’s decision to appoint Le Khanh Hai,member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, anddeputy head of the President Office to the post of head of the PresidentOffice./.
