DongA Bank expands auto banking services

DongA Bank has deployed another 17 auto banking transaction points in Ho Chi Minh City since June 2, bringing the total number to 42 across the country.
DongA Bank has deployed another 17 auto banking transaction points in HoChi Minh City since June 2, bringing the total number to 42 across thecountry.

The auto banking system is anautomatic transaction bank model that serves customers all around theclock, allowing most bank transactions.

DeputyDirector of the State Bank Vietnam (SBV) branch in HCM City, NguyenHoang Minh, highlighted the automation of banking services as part ofthe SBV’s plan to reduce cash transactions in the 2011-2015 period.These are expected to make up below 11 percent of total payment methodsby the end of the year, he added.

According toTran Phuong Binh, General Director of DongA Bank, the model was firstintroduced in Vietnam in 2010 and deployed in 2012 by a number of banks.

The lender plans to deploy more than 150 autobanking transaction points across the country by the end of this year,Binh added.-VNA
