Ensuring safety for visitors to “Pearl Island”

Phu Quoc, known as “Pearl Island” and off the coast of southern Kien Giang province, began a pilot program on November 20 to welcome back international guests. The famous island has been working hard to ensure the health and safety of visitors and helping them enjoy a great holiday.

To prevent any spread of COVID-19, the New World Phu Quoc Resort decided to rearrange its service staff, who have all received two doses of vaccine, into zones. It has also meticulously prepared for the possibility of any infections.

At Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc, international guests are living in a separate area, to guarantee they have no contact with the community and do not infect others. They can still go sightseeing, take in some entertainment, and dine and shop at attractive venues, as part of a “vaccine passport” itinerary.

Foreign airlines have signed memoranda of aviation cooperation with Phu Quoc to operate direct flights to the island. All are charter or commercial flights with package travel programs.

Kien Giang believes that with the dynamism of and close coordination between relevant authorities, the island can welcome 400,000 tourists by the end of this year./.
