The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) on May 23 launched Green-Biz 2013 at a seminar themed Energy Savings and Sustainable Profits.

Green-Biz is an integrated two-dayBusiness-to-Business and Business-to-Government event, to be held inHanoi from September 19-20. It will include a conference with aninternational exhibition and networking events, presenting the mostpressing issues for sustainable development in Vietnam.

In the months leading up to the main event, a Green Empowering contest, aGreen Building programme and a Clean Business seminar will be heldto introduce various European green business solutions for Vietnam.

Preben Hjortlund, EuroCham’s Chairman, said that in 2013,EuroCham will focus on implementing the third version of Green-Biz,facing up to challenges and mobilising resources to develop a “greenfuture”.

This year’s event will attract key European andVietnamese participants from academia, public bodies, civil society,international organisations, press and private companies . Green-Biz2013 is the third event of its type organised in Vietnam afterGreen-Biz 2009 and 2011.-VNA

Hanoi targets 30,000 new enterprises in 2025

By the end of 2024, the number of registered enterprises in the capital city reached over 400,000, with about 220,000 operating. Notably, more than 98% of the operating firms are SMEs which create jobs for 55.1% of the local workforce and contribute over 40% of the city’s gross domestic product (GDP).

TH Group inaugurates large-scale dairy processing plant in Russia

The plant has a total capacity of 1,000 tonnes per day, with the first phase producing 500 tonnes daily. All milk used at the plant is sourced from TH’s high-tech farms in the Moscow and Kaluga oblasts. TH milk boasts a high nutritional profile, with a fat content of 4.0% and protein at 3.2% — among the highest quality levels in Russia.

A report from the ministry shows that Vietnam’s durian exports to China reached only 35,000 tonnes worth around 130 million USD in the first four months of this year, equivalent to only 20% of export targets. In comparison, durian exports totalled 500 million USD in the same period last year.
