Presentat the opening ceremony were Governor of Yangon U Phyo Min Thein, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry ofCommerce U Aung Soe, and representatives from Vietnamese businessclub in Myanmar.
Speakingat the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Luan Thuy Duong said since theestablishment of comprehensive cooperative partnership in 2017, Vietnam andMyanmar have seen progress in bilateral ties, especially in trade andinvestment.
Vietnamis now the ninth largest trade partner of Myanmar with two-way trade growing by13 percent annually over the past five years, reaching 860 million USD lastyear, Duong said, adding that the figure is expected to hit 1 billion USD in2020.
Vietnamalso ranked seventh among 50 countries and territories investing in Myanmarwith 25 projects worth nearly 2.2 billion USD, the ambassador added.
Duongsaid the event would contribute to popularising Vietnam’s images and brandswhile promoting exports and distribution of Vietnamese goods in Myanmar.
Theexhibition gathered 22 outstanding Vietnamese firms that represent more than200 enterprises in Myanmar./.
