Hanoi (VNA) - Deputy Minister of Public Security Sen. Lieut. Gen. Pham The Tung on August 6 called for more efforts to ensure the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi in October achieves comprehensive success.

The event should be successful in terms of content; in ensuring security, safety, and high esteem in protocol and diplomacy; and in promoting the image, identity, and culture of Vietnam to international friends, Tung, who is head of the steering committee for preparations of the signing ceremony, told a conference to assess the preparation work.

He stressed that this international event holds significant importance as it affirms the international community’s trust in Vietnam’s capacity, commitment, and responsibility in addressing global non-traditional security challenges.

The purpose of the conference is to review and assess the actual progress of preparations for organising the ceremony, as well as ensuring security and order. On that basis, key tasks and solutions will be identified for focused and intensive implementation in the coming period to ensure it is held in a solemn, professional, and secure manner.

The deputy minister requested all members of the steering committee to have a unified understanding of the significance and importance of the event, and consider it a key political task.

He highlighted the need to apply experience from the organisation of recent international conferences, especially the fourth Partnering for Green Growth and Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit, and drastically implement measures to guarantee absolute safety and security, and avoid any unexpected incidents or even the smallest errors, thereby contributing to the successful organisation of the ceremony./.
