Hanoi (VNA) – A film week commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly (January 6, 1946 – 2026) and the upcoming 14th National Party Congress will be held in the northern province of Bac Ninh, according to the Vietnam Cinema Department.
On January 17, representatives of film crews, directors and cinema artists will attend the opening ceremony and engage in exchanges with audiences, helping to enhance public outreach and promote the values of the country’s revolutionary cinema in social life.
The films selected for public screenings include titles that won Golden Lotus and Silver Lotus Awards at the 24th Vietnam Film Festival. These films have demonstrated broad social impact, strong audience appeal and solid box-office performance, while also meeting high standards of artistic quality and ideological value.
In addition to screenings in Bac Ninh under a programme curated specifically for the film week, the department will coordinate with relevant agencies to disseminate a number of state-funded films nationwide through separate programmes, primarily via mobile cinema screenings.
A representative of the department said that through carefully selected films of high artistic quality, humanistic content and wholesome entertainment value, the film week aims to promote positive cultural values, vividly reflect social life, history and national traditions, meet the public’s demand for cultural and spiritual enjoyment, and foster a festive atmosphere in the lead-up to the major national political events./.
