Hanoi (VNA) – A thematic exhibition entitled “President Ho Chi Minh and the National Assembly of Vietnam – 80 Years of a Glorious Journey” opened on January 14 as part of activities to mark the 14th National Party Congress, the 96th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and 80 years of the legislature.

On display are 120 photographs and documents highlighting President Ho Chi Minh’s close association with the NA throughout its 80 years of formation and development. Many valuable original artefacts are being showcased for the first time to both domestic and international audiences.

President Ho Chi Minh laid the foundations for building the socialist rule-of-law State of Vietnam – that of the people, by the people and for the people. On January 6, 1946, under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the first general election in the nation’s history was successfully held, leading to the establishment of the first-tenue NA with 333 deputies representing the great national unity bloc.

The exhibition is divided into three sections. The first features images and documents capturing President Ho Chi Minh's return to the country in 1941 and his direct leadership of the Vietnamese revolution towards national independence.

The second section highlights his role in building national unity and shaping key policy decisions, helping the NA and the country overcome critical historical challenges.

The third reflects the 15 legislative terms closely linked with resistance wars, national construction, renewal and international integration, underscoring the NA’s role in institutionalising the Party’s guidelines, responding to the people’s aspirations, and contributing to sustainable national development.

Alongside photographs and documents spanning eight decades, artefacts related to NA elections are also on display.

A representative of the President Ho Chi Minh relic site at the Presidential Palace said the exhibition highlights the late leader’s deep concern for elections and the sacred civic rights of citizens.

On this occasion, a photo exhibition titled “Beautiful Moments at the President Ho Chi Minh relic site at the Presidential Palace” was also held, featuring 50 photographs capturing President Ho Chi Minh’s simple yet great life and work during the period from 1954 to 1969./.

Kyrgyzstan media warn their team ahead of match against Vietnam U23

After opening their campaign with a 0–1 defeat to Saudi Arabia U23 — a match in which they were reduced to 10 men from the 34th minute following Arsen Sharshenbekov’s red card — Kyrgyzstan U23 head into the meeting with Vietnam under heavy pressure. Another defeat would likely see coach Edmar Lacerda’s side eliminated early from the tournament.
