The French Minister of Foreign Trade, Nicole Bricq will visit Vietnamfrom April 7-9, according to a statement released by the ministry onApril 5.
The visit is part of her working tour of Southeast Asia.
The statement says Vietnam is considered a "new dragon” with anaverage economic growth rate of 7 percent over the last 10 years. Itis also listed as one of the newly emerged economies.
However, trade exchanges between Vietnam and France have not metthe expectations of the two countries. France ’s market share inVietnam is only one percent while the figure in other ASEAN countriesis 1.5 percent.
The foreign trade minister’sworking visit aims to boost trade relations between the two countries,based on fostering the business of French companies in this potentialmarket.-VNA
