Hanoi (VNA) – Nearly 6,900 tonnes ofrice will be provided for the central provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and QuangBinh to support people affected by storms and floods this year.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Financeto give the assistance to the provinces.
Nearly 3,960 tonnes will be allocated to Quang Binhto help flood victims.
More than 908 tonnes and 2,005 tonnes of rice willbe respectively provided for Nghe An and Ha Tinh to aid those affected by stormRAI in September and floods.
Deaths were reported while hundreds of thousands ofhouses and a widespread area of crops were deep under water due to floodstriggered by downpours in the central and Central Highlands regions fromOctober to early November.
Other assistance from the State as well as Vietnamesepeople both at home and abroad has gone to the victims.-VNA
