Hai Phong voters voice trust in Party’s leadership, Gov’t steering role

Hai Phong (VNA) – Constituents in Hong Bang district,Hai Phong city, expressed their trust in the Party’s leadership and theGovernment’s steering role in national socio-economic issues while meeting withPrime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and other National Assembly (NA) deputies ofthe northern city on May 13.

The meeting took place ahead of the fifthsession of the 14th-tenure parliament, slated for later this month.

Local people applauded unceasing efforts by thePM and the Cabinet in building an incorruptible Government that acts for thesake of people and businesses.

Do Viet Hung, a resident in Quan Toan ward,voiced his delight at the national development in recent years thanks to theParty and the NA’s leadership and the Government’s drastic and effectiveactions. He noted that the PM and the Government have done a good job ofmanaging and steering socio-economic aspects, firmly ensuring national defence-security,and enhancing investors’ trust.

Welcoming strong moves to improve the businessclimate, voter Bui Cong Phu in Pham Hong Thai ward asked for more concretepolicies to support start-ups, increase new enterprises and promote domesticfirms’ competitiveness.

Meanwhile, many participants spoke highly of themeasures taken by the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, the NA,the Government, and especially Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong tofight corruption since 2017.

Dong Xuan Hien, a voter in Hoang Van Thu ward,called on the NA to include more comprehensive and detailed regulations onmeasures to monitor officials’ assets while revising the anti-corruption law.

At the meeting, PM Phuc appreciated localresidents’ opinions on various spheres. He informed about the freshly-concludedseventh plenary session of the 12th-tenure Party Central Committee, with the adoption of three important resolutions on building thecadre contingent, reforming the salary policy, and reforming the socialinsurance policy.

He said the approaching fifth session of theNational Assembly will look into lawmaking, socio-economic affairs and manyother important issues.

In the first four months of 2018, themacro-economy remained stable while inflation was under control when it grew by1.34 percent and the consumer price index rose 2.8 percent year on year.

The PM said the Government is focusing onfine-tuning policies to better meet requirements of the socio-economicmanagement and steering tasks.

Lauding local constituents’ opinions on theanti-corruption determination and the settlement of serious cases, he said heand other NA deputies are also very interested in this matter and committed toconveying voters’ corruption fighting spirit to the NA and the Government so asto better meet people’s aspirations.

On behalf of NA deputies of Hai Phong, PM Phucalso fielded questions and opinions about mechanisms and policies foreducation, public investment, and funding for some projects, particularly theconstruction of a coastal road linking Hai Phong city and five northernprovinces.-VNA

NA Standing Committee inspects election preparations in Ca Mau

In Ca Mau, 13 candidates have been introduced for the National Assembly, 73 for the provincial People’s Council, and 1,469 for commune-level People’s Councils. The provincial election committee has designated five NA constituencies and 18 constituencies for People’s Councils at provincial and commune levels.
