The Noi Bai International Airport Border Gate Customs Branch officially applied the Vietnam Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System/Vietnam Customs Information System (VNACCS/VCIS) on April 21.

This is the last unit of the Hanoi Customs Department to fully deploy the modern customs system.

Representatives of some businesses present at the branch during the first day of application affirmed that the system dealt with their declarations quickly and correctly.

The system produces quicker and more accurate responses than the old system and does not depend on the intervention of customs officers, said Bui Thai Phuong, Deputy Director of the Phuc Phuong Co., Ltd.

Director of the Thien Anh Minh Co., Ltd, Van Anh, said that thanks to the direct support of customs officers, the company’s declaration on VNACCS/VCIS took place smoothly.

According to Luu Thi Thanh Hien, Vice Head of the Noi Bai International Airport Border Gate Customs Branch, the new system operated stably during its first day of operation.

She vowed that the customs staff and IT experts will provide timely assistance for businesses if needed.

VNACCS/VCIS, worth nearly 2.7 billion JPY (21.2 million USD) funded by the Japanese Government, is scheduled to be fully applied across Vietnam from June 1.-VNA
