Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi shipped goods overseas for 14.23 billion USD in 2018, an annual increase of 21.6 percent, reported the municipal Department of Industry and Trade.
In December alone, the capital city’s export value reached about 1.38 billion USD, up 7.6 percent from November and 28.2 percent year on year.
Garment-textile products, farm produce, and petroleum contributed the most to such growth. The garment-textile export turnover increased 24 percent while the respective figures for farm produce and petroleum were 39.8 and 83.8 percent.
The US, Japan, and China remained Hanoi’s biggest markets, with values accounting for 16, 13, and 12 percent of the total obtained by the city, respectively.
Meanwhile, the capital city imported 3.1 billion USD worth of goods in December, rising 8.4 percent from November and 9.6 percent against one year earlier.
