Hau Giang (VNA) – The MekongDelta province of Hau Giang held a meeting with Japanese firms on January 25 tointroduce its potential, strengths, and preferential policies.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Truong Canh Tuyen said that the province holds strengths in transportsystem, agriculture, and industry.
Hau Giang has applied numerous incentivesfor investment and is able to provide an abundant workforce, simple investmentprocedures, friendly administrative system, and helpful support.
Tuyen affirmed that with its tradition of hospitalityand respect for partners, Hau Giang welcomes domestic and foreign enterprisesto invest in the province as it hopes to form partnerships with investors andinternational organisations.
He vowed to offer optimal conditions forinvestors to implement their projects and secure sustainable futuredevelopment.
Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh CityJunichi Kawaue said that connectivity between Japan and Vietnam has become moresignificant amidst the rapidly changing socio-economic situation in the world.
He expressed his hope that Japanese andVietnamese firms will maximise on opportunities brought by the Comprehensiveand Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Through the meeting, Japanese enterprises gaineda deeper insight into the attraction and potential of Hau Giang, which willhelp foster partnershipd among businesses of both nations, he said.
Hau Giang recorded aneconomic growth of 6.93 percent in 2018. So far, the province has developed arice growing region covering 32,000ha, a sugar cane farm area of 10,500ha, alongwith 1,500ha of pineapple and over 15,000ha of citrus plant farms, as well as10ha of aquatic farms.
The province has twoindustrial parks and eight concentrated industrial clusters with a combinedarea of 1,530ha. It is also home to a Vinalines seaport with the capacity ofhandling vessels with a loading capacity of up to 20 tonnes.–VNA
