HCM City (VNA) – Standing Deputy Secretary of theHo Chi Minh City Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang on October 26 received adelegation of the Cuban Women’s Federation (FMC), now on a working visit to theVietnamese city.

Head delegate Teresa Maria Amarelle Boue,Politburo member of the Communist Party of Cuba and Secretary General of theFMC, affirmed that her country always wants to enhance the traditionalsolidarity and friendship with Vietnam so as to benefit the people of eachcountry.

Noting the outcomes of the delegation’s workingvisit in HCM City, she said they were very impressed with the local child caremodel for low-income earners as well as vocational training and career guidanceactivities of the HCM City Women’s Cultural House. They consider these asprecious experiences for Cuba.

Welcoming the Cuban guests, Cang expressed hishope that the FMC and the HCM City Women’s Union would effectively share experiencein women-related work and help strengthen cooperation between Vietnamese andCuban women.

He also appreciated the Cuban people’swholehearted support for Vietnam during the fight for national independence andreunification in the past. He added Cuba leader Fidel Castro’s braving ofdangers to visit the newly liberated area in Quang Tri 45 years ago reflectedthe Cuban people’s special solidarity with Vietnam.

The Vietnamese people will forever keep in mindthis solidarity and always want to develop the time-tested relations with theirCuban peers, the official noted.

Earlier the same day, the FMC delegation visitedthe historical relic site of Cu Chi Tunnels, some private child care centresand the HCM City Women’s Cultural House.-VNA

Foreign policy contributes to propelling Vietnam into new era

2024 saw Vietnam significantly expanding its diplomatic activities with numerous partners and at various important multilateral forums and mechanisms. The country’s key leaders conducted a total of 60 external activities, including paying 21 visits to foreign countries and attend major multilateral conferences, as well as hosting 25 delegations of foreign leaders to Vietnam.
