Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City plans to commence construction on 14 key transport infrastructure projects in 2026, as part of a broader list of 77 priority works scheduled for implementation during the 2026–2030 period, according to the municipal Department of Construction.
Projects slated for commencement include Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 4; Metro Line No.2 (Ben Thanh–Tham Luong section); a sea-crossing bridge linking Can Gio with Ba Ria–Vung Tau; and major bridges such as Can Gio, Phu My 2, Thu Thiem 4 and Cat Lai.
Other projects include an interchange connecting the Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway with Rung Sac Road in Can Gio, and the dredging, environmental rehabilitation and infrastructure development of Van Thanh canal.
Alongside new ground-breaking projects, the city targets completion of around 10 major works in 2026, including Ring Road 3, An Phu and My Thuy interchanges, National Highway 50, and a pedestrian bridge across the Sai Gon River.
Under the city’s action programme for the 2025–2030 term, Ho Chi Minh City prioritises investment in 77 transport and technical infrastructure projects with a total estimated capital of over 1.78 quadrillion VND (67.76 billion USD), underscoring its determination to build a modern, synchronised transport network to support long-term socio-economic development./.
