Houses built for disadvantaged families in Ninh Binh after Typhoon Bualoi

The Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the People’s Committee of northern Ninh Binh province, held a ground-breaking ceremony in Quy Nhat commune on October 2 to build houses for families severely affected by Typhoon Bualoi and its aftermath.

Ninh Binh (VNA) - The Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the People’s Committee of northern Ninh Binh province, held a ground-breaking ceremony in Quy Nhat commune on October 2 to build houses for families severely affected by Typhoon Bualoi and its aftermath.

Dang Xuan Phong, Secretary of the Ninh Binh provincial Party Committee, highlighted the significance of the initiative, noting that the sturdy new houses will provide residents with secure shelter, helping them to overcome difficulties and improve their livelihoods.

Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen, Deputy Chief of the Ministry of Public Security’s Office, extended sympathy to those impacted by the storm. Emphasising the police’s commitment to supporting communities in times of need, he outlined the Ministry’s directive for local forces to lead construction efforts with efficient, durable, and cost-effective housing.

Typhoon Bualoi, the 10th storm arising in the East Sea so far this year, brought heavy rains and a tornado on September 29, devastating several communes in Ninh Binh, including Quy Nhat, Hai Thinh, and Hong Phong. The disaster caused nine deaths, 32 injuries, damage to over 1,200 houses, 11 schools, more than 3,100 hectares of crop, nearly 160 hectares of flooded aquaculture, and the loss of over 1,500 livestock and poultry.

Following the disaster, provincial authorities swiftly mobilised support for affected families and coordinated recovery efforts to restore stability.

The Ministry of Public Security has allocated 60 million VND (2,272 USD) each to 24 especially disadvantaged households for new house construction, funded by contributions from officers and soldiers. The provincial administration has provided an additional 100 million VND per household to support the initiative./.

Noi Bai Airport to operate expanded int’l terminal with comprehensive automation
