Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian and Japanese enterprises signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) valued at 200.8 million USD at a recent Indonesia – Japan business forum held in Osaka.

In a statement from Jakarta on June 13, Indonesian Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti emphasised that cooperation between the two countries is expected to strengthen and yield mutual benefits in the near future.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade has pledged to facilitate and support collaboration among stakeholders, particularly small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Its non-oil and gas imports from the Northeast Asian country rose nearly 8.25% in the same period, with major imports being metal products, motor vehicles, and copper.

The Deputy Minister also highlighted Indonesia’s openness to partnership in strategic areas, notably green energy and sustainable products.
