Lam Dong exports oncidium orchid to Japan

The Hoa Mat Troi Limited Company in Duc Trong district of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong has exported hundreds of thousands of oncidium orchid branches to Japan.

The Hoa Mat Troi Limited Company in Duc Trong district of theCentral Highlands province of Lam Dong has exported hundreds ofthousands of oncidium orchid branches to Japan.

According to the company, some 200,000 oncidium orchid pots are being regularly harvested for export.

The company has already shipped 600,000 oncidium orchid branches toJapan, bringing home 6 billion VND (around 286,000 USD) since thebeginning of this year.

Currently, the company andaffiliated units have a total 27.4 hectares of land for plantingoncidium orchid, with about 2.7 million pots. The flowers are plantedusing advanced technology and strict technical standards.

The company will continue to cooperate with local farming householdsto expand cultivation areas to 100 hectares for export, particularly tomeet high demand in the Japanese market which imports about 100million branches a year.-VNA
