Vientiane (VNA) – The Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism announced a significant restructuring of its media administration at a conference held on June 16 in Vientiane. The event was chaired by Minister Suansavanh Viyaket.
At the conference, the ministry officially declared the transfer of the press management functions of five key media agencies and associated personnel to the Propaganda and Training Board of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee.
The agencies include the Press Department, the Lao News Agency, the Lao National Television, the Lao National Radio, and Vientiane Times newspaper.
This move marks a major step in Laos’s ongoing efforts to streamline its state apparatus and enhance the role of the Party in leading and guiding ideological direction and public communication in the current context.
The restructuring is expected to improve the efficiency of media operations nationwide, ensuring unified information management nationwide./.
