Laos seizes over 1,000kg of amphetamine, crystal methamphetamine

The drug control and supervision unit in Oudomxay province reported that police partnered with soldiers and local authorities to raid eight houses in Xay district after receiving a tip-off about the production of drugs. They also confiscated money, machines used in making drug, vehicles and other items.
The drug haul is the largest in Laos so far this year and is the result of a police crackdown on drug production and trade in Oudomxay.
In May, police arrested a man after finding more than 1 million amphetamine pills and 48 bags of drug precursor chemicals in the vehicle he was driving./.
