Legislative body passes six important resolutions

Six resolutions related to infrastructure, Hai Phong city, 2023 state budget settlement, and the laws on organisation of People's Court and People's Procuracy were passed at the 15th National Assembly's 9th session on June 27.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 15th National Assembly adopted six resolutions related to infrastructure, Hai Phong city, 2023 state budget settlement, and the laws on organisation of People's Court and People's Procuracy during its 9th session on June 27.

Specifically, with 446 out of 447 participating deputies, accounting for 93.31% of the total number of deputies, voting in favour, the legislature passed the Resolution on the investment policy for the Quy Nhon – Pleiku Expressway Project.

The project covers approximately 125 kilometres and is divided into three component projects. Its preliminary total investment is estimated at around 43.73 trillion VND (1.67 billion USD). The expressway is expected to open to traffic in 2029.

With 437 out of 441 participating deputies saying “yes,” the Resolution on the investment policy for the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road No. 4 Project was approved. The nearly-160km road is estimated to have an initial investment of 120.4 trillion VND.

Meanwhile, the Resolution on adjusting the investment policy for the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway Project - Phase 1 got the support of 437 out of 441 participating deputies.

In addition, 447 out of 449 participating deputies voted in favour the Resolution on piloting several specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Hai Phong city.

The National Assembly also approved the Resolution on the ratification of the 2023 State Budget Settlement, with 435 out of 441 participating voting in favour.

Accordingly, the total state budget revenue for 2023 was 3.023 quadrillion VND, while the total state budget expenditure was 3.176 quadrillion VND. The total amount of state budget borrowing to cover the deficit and repay principal was 482.625 trillion VND.

The legislative body also adopted the Resolution on the enforcement of the Law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Law on the Organisation of the People’s Courts, the Law on the Organisation of the People’s Procuracies, the procedural laws, and other related laws, with 448 out of 449 participating deputies voting in favour.

Under this resolution, which will take effect from July 1, 2025, the operations of the High-level People's Courts, High-level People's Procuracies, district People's Courts, and district People's Procuracies will end from that day./.
