Maybank Investment Bank Research said in areport on February 15 that the key lookouts for this year's growth forecastinclude the outcome of the US and China trade talks and clarity on Malaysiangovernment's policy on the country's long-term economic growth, following theestablishment of the Economic Action Council on February 11.
The report emphasised on the bank’s expectationsof sustained growth momentum this year, which is premised on recoveries in the miningand agriculture sectors, and the US-China trade deal mitigating the downsiderisks to global economic and trade growth.
Malaysia announced on February 14 that its 2018gross domestic product (GDP) growth slowed to 4.7 percent from 5.9 percent in2017.-VNA
