Works by Mouris Salloum George, President of Mexico's Club of Journalists, have provided objective information about Vietnam to the people of Mexico, thereby contributing to the promotion of the traditional friendship between the two nations, especially during the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations (May 19, 1975 - 2025).

Mexico City (VNA) – An event was held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico to hand over the second prize of Vietnam's 10th National External Information Service Awards to a Mexican author on April 3 in Mexico City.

Speaking at the event, the awardee Mouris Salloum George, President of the Club of Journalists, said that one of the core missions of Mexican media is to spread positive, humanitarian values.

He said Mexican journalists find these values when writing about Vietnam – a heroic nation, full of potential and thirst to rise.

He emphasised that information about Vietnam not only provides readers with an objective view of a strong Vietnam but also serves as a reference for understanding the successful socio-economic development of a small nation emerging from the ashes of war.

Thanking the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico and his Vietnamese colleagues for providing him with objective information, George, who has produced dozens of reports about Vietnam, expressed his determination to continue writing about Vietnam to spread positive information about the country not only to readers in Mexico but also throughout Latin America.

He added that he hopes press agencies of Vietnam and Mexico will enhance cooperation and academic exchanges.

Hailing George's articles about Vietnam, Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai said his works have provided objective information about Vietnam to the people of Mexico, thereby contributing to the promotion of the traditional friendship between the two nations, especially during the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations (May 19, 1975 - 2025).

Referring to George’s winning work "Vietnam opens its arms of friendship to Latin American countries", the ambassador noted that it is very special as it vividly and engagingly reflects the historical milestones in the relationship between Vietnam and Latin American countries, as well as Vietnam's policy to strengthen cooperation with its traditional friends.

Hai affirmed that Vietnam's representative agencies in Mexico always play a role as a bridge to enhance cooperation between Vietnamese and Mexican media organisations, considering this an important task in further strengthening the increasingly good bilateral relationship./.
