Jakarta (VNA) - The Ministry of Trade, and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises have agreed to synergise efforts (SOEs) to develop and empower export-ready micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the coming time.
This synergy was marked by the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the two ministries. The MoU covers cooperation in strengthening domestic supply chains, increasing human resources capacity, and increasing financing support, among others.
Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti said that the MoU is a strategic step by both ministries to bolster synergy to encourage national economic growth through MSMEs. In addition, it aims to improve the competitiveness of Indonesian products and expand their access to domestic and global markets.
Throughout the collaboration, the two ministries will focus on utilising all shared resources to create greater added value for the national economy, she said, adding MSMEs, which contribute 61% to the national GDP, have a fundamental role as drivers of the Indonesian economy and play a role in creating jobs and reducing the unemployment rate.
The Ministry of Trade is continuing to boost the competitiveness of MSMEs through three main pillars, namely the development of export products, business players, and export markets.
Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that the ministerial synergy aims to make Indonesian MSMEs known on the global stage, adding the cooperation and guidance of the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Trade could help enable MSMEs to expand their market access./.
