Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) must instill the people-centred approach in law building and enforcement in its personnel, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told the ministry’s conference on December 20.

The virtual conference brought together judicial officials from 64 cities and provinces nationwide to discuss the implementation of judicial plans next year. It also saw the presence of Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh and Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long.

In his remarks, Chinh highly spoke of the MoJ’s efforts in preventing corruption and building a clean and strong political system which contributes to heightening Vietnam’s reputation in lawmaking.

He asked the MoJ and its agencies to work harder in the face of people’s growing need for better judicial environment, and learn from practices to build a socialist democracy and a socialist rule-of-law state.

The PM stressed that law building is among three strategic breakthroughs set by the Communist Party of Vietnam since its 11th National Congress in 2011, with the motto of making the people and enterprises the centre and the subject in law building and law enforcement.

The MoJ was also tasked to invest more resources in institutional building and view it as an investment for development, he said./.
