Hanoi, (VNA) –  The following is a list of selected newssummaries last night by Vietnam News Agency.

-The ninthsession of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee wrapped up on March 24after six working days divided into two periods.

Addressing the closing ceremony, NA Chairman VuongDinh Hue summed up that the session had dealt with 15 issues to prepare for thethird plenary session of the 15th NA. Read full story

-National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hueon March 24 chaired a working session between the Party Delegation to the NAand the Central Public Security Party Committee's Standing Board on the draftlaws and resolutions compiled and submitted to the legislature by the Ministryof Public Security.

During the 14th tenure of the NA, the ministry built and submitted 13 laws and resolutions tothe legislative body. At the upcoming third plenary session of the 15th NA, theministry will submit to the legislature a draft Law on Mobile Police, a draftResolution on a pilot model of organising working, career consultation andvocational training activities for inmates outside the prison, a draft revisedLaw on Road Traffic Order and Safety, and a draft law on forces engaging insecurity and order protection at grassroots level, said Lam. Read full story

Vinh Phuc urged to take more drastic actions for stronger growth

Vinh Phuc's GRDP growth for 2021–2025 is projected at 7.4%, with total economic output expected to reach 190 trillion VND (7.45 billion USD) by 2025, 1.53 times higher than in 2020. Annual per capita GDP is forecast to rise to 148 million VND, while labour productivity is improving at an average of 11% per year.

National conference on provincial mergers scheduled

Currently, Vietnam has 10,035 commune-level administrative units, which will be consolidated into approximately 2,000 larger communes, each operating similarly to a small district. This restructuring is expected to begin immediately after the Party Central Committee's April meeting.

PM sets higher requirements for 500 kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line project

The 500 kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line is a strategic national infrastructure project approved by the Government, with Vietnam Electricity (EVN) as the investor. The double-circuit transmission line will span 229.5 kilometers, with 468 tower foundations across the four northern provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, and Vinh Phuc. The total investment for the project is over 7.41 trillion VND (290.41 million USD).

Vietnam seeks stronger green finance cooperation with Luxembourg

The trip aims to study Luxembourg’s experience in developing an international financial centre and to explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation with the local government, financial institutions, investment funds, and banks. These discussions are expected to contribute to Vietnam’s plans to establish international and regional financial centres in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
