– Vietnam recognises the more positive assessment made in the 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report by the US Department of State, Spokeswoman of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang told a regular press briefing on June 22.

Replying to a reporter’s question about the US Department of State’s release of the report, Hang highlighted the Vietnamese Government’s policy of promoting legal, safe, and orderly migration and also resolutely preventing and fighting illegal migration, arrangement of illegal migration, and human trafficking. Read full story

Pham Ngoc Viet, Director of the Ministry of Public Security’s Homeland Security Department, has pointed out some external terrorism risks that may harm Vietnam’s national security and also confirmed that the June 11 attacks on the administrations’ headquarters and civilians in Dak Lak province were organised terrorist acts.
