- Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had a meeting inHanoi on June 5 with the group of female deputies of the 15th NationalAssembly, during which he asked them to continue to adopt reforms to improvethe quality and efficiency of their activities.

He encouraged the female deputies to increasefriendship exchanges and international cooperation, and participate in internationaland regional conferences and forums, particularly on gender equality, domesticviolence prevention and combat, and climate change, as well as raise theposition and prestige of Vietnamese female NA deputies in theinternational arena. Read full story

- President Vo Van Thuong hosted US Ambassador to VietnamMarc E. Knapper in Hanoi on June 5, during which the State leader affirmed theimportance that Vietnam attaches to cooperation between the two countries,describing the US as one of the leading partners of Vietnam.

He hailed the US diplomat’s efforts to collaboratewith Vietnamese authorities and visit many Vietnamese localities to seekstronger partnership between the two countries. Read full story

- The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Bulgarian News Agency(BTA) have freshly sealed a cooperation pact on professional exchanges duringVNA Deputy Director General Doan Thi Tuyet Nhung’s working trip to Bulgariafrom June 1-5.

According to the document signed by Nhung and BTADirector General Kiril Valchev, the two agencies will provide each other withinformation on the two nations via the exchange of photos, stories written inEnglish, and various types of multimedia information. They will expand theirscope of bilateral collaboration via mutual visits of their leaders, reporters,and technicians to boost joint work in communications and share professionalexperiences. Read full story

- The formation of long-term cooperation frameworks such asComprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) between Vietnam and UnitedArab Emirates (UAE) will provide the necessary foundations for the two sides topromote future cooperation, a Vietnamese official has said.

Through the CEPA, the UAE can become a bridge between Vietnamand other countries in the region, stated Minister of Industry and Trade NguyenHong Dien during talks with visiting UAE Minister of State for InternationalTrade Affairs Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi in Hanoi on June 5. Read full story

- The 14th annual GreenConsumption Campaign, which seeks to usher in environment-friendly consumptionhabits, began in Ho Chi Minh City on June 4.

Resolution No. 27 on regional development and the organisation of national development space in the new period places regional development as a means of organising national growth and a tool for reorganising development space, allocating resources and enhancing competitiveness. This takes on particular significance following the restructuring of administrative units, as the expanded scale of many localities creates better conditions for integrating urban, industrial, agricultural, maritime, border-gate and logistics spaces.

Vietnamese NA President experiences Mongolian traditional culture

NA President Man, his spouse and the Vietnamese delegation attended a mini Naadam Festival, which recreated Mongolia's largest and oldest traditional festival and a source of pride for the Mongolian people. The Naadam Festival was inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Vietnam, France seek to deepen defence cooperation

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang said Vietnam-France defence ties have continued to grow, with cooperation expanding in various areas, including high-level delegation exchanges; the deputy-minister-level strategic dialogue and defence cooperation mechanism; military medicine; education and training; search and rescue; UN peacekeeping operations; maritime cooperation; and defence industry.

The two leaders agreed to actively exchange all-level delegations, soon establish new cooperation mechanisms commensurate with the level of bilateral ties, and effectively implement the Vietnam-France Action Plan for 2026-2028. They concurred to continue strengthening cooperation in defence and security, United Nations peacekeeping operations, and in preventing and combating organised transnational crime, among other areas.
