- Party General Secretary To Lam hosted a reception for Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya on August 6 in Hanoi, during which the Party chief called for stronger cooperation between the two countries in science-technology, innovation, culture, education, religion, and tourism.

General Secretary Lam congratulated Indian people on the occasion of India's 79th Independence Day (August 15, 1947 – 2025), and praised the remarkable achievements the country has made over the years, particularly in socio-economic development, science and technology, and its increasing position in the region and the world. - State President Luong Cuong, his spouse, and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam arrived at Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda on August 6 afternoon (local time), beginning a state visit to Angola at the invitation of President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and his spouse.

At the airport, the Vietnamese leader and delegation were welcomed by Angolan Minister of External Relations Téte António, Angolan Ambassador to Vietnam Fernando Miguel, Governor of Luanda province Luis Manuel da Fonseca, Director of State Protocol at the Angolan Ministry of External Relations Jorge Pataca, Vietnamese Ambassador to Angola Duong Chinh Chuc, and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy. - President Luong Cuong’s state visit to Angola from August 6 to 9 is expected to open up new collaboration opportunities, including those in trade ties that could propel the bilateral relationship to a new height.

Experts noted that Vietnam and Angola have maintained a strong traditional friendship and extensive cooperation since establishing diplomatic relations in 1975. Angola, aiming to diversify its economy and attract foreign direct investment (FDI), is eager to learn from Vietnam’s development experiences. Priority areas for FDI in this African country include industry, tourism, mining, health care, education, agriculture, sports, and housing. The country is calling for foreign investment to drive national development and hopes Vietnamese investors will increase their engagement in its economy. Read full story

- Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang has suggested several measures for expanding defence ties in the future during a recent courtesy call to Dr. Arnold Kammel, Secretary General of the Austrian Ministry of Defence.

At the meeting, the Vietnamese diplomat expressed the country’s wish to promote substantive and effective defence cooperation with Austria, in line with the bilateral relations and the cooperation between Vietnam and the European Union (EU). Read full story

Two military officers promoted to rank of Senior Lieutenant General
