- Party General Secretary To Lam left Joint Base Andrews on February 20 afternoon (local time), concluding his three-day trip for the inaugural meeting of the Gaza Board of Peace in Washington D.C. at the invitation of President Donald Trump, who is also the Board’s Founding Chairman.

At the meeting, General Secretary Lam shared Vietnam’s major orientations in its new development phase, highlighting the vision and strategic goals set forth at the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vienam. - Party General Secretary To Lam attended the launch of the annual tree planting festival at the grounds of the Communist Party of Vietnam Museum project in Hanoi on February 22.

The Huu Nghi–Chi Lang project, the first section of the eastern North–South expressway, spans 60km through seven communes and wards in the northern province of Lang Son, directly linking three international border gates – Huu Nghi, Coc Nam and Tan Thanh. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected and offered encouragement to the forces working on the Nhon – Hanoi Station urban railway line in the capital city on February 22.

The 12.5km route consists of an 8.5km elevated section and about 4km running underground. It features a 1,435mm standard-gauge double track built to European standards, comprising eight elevated and four underground stations. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 22 chaired a meeting of the Government’s standing members to review the Lunar New Year (Tet) celebrations and implement key task for the post-holiday period.

The PM highlighted the comprehensive and positive outcomes across all aspects of serving the public throughout the Lunar New Year holiday, saying that that people across the country enjoyed a joyful, warm, safe and healthy Tet, imbued with a strong sense of solidarity, in line with directives from the Secretariat and the Government. - Vietnam will officially take part for the first time in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference and Exhibition, hosting a Vietnam Pavilion at the event.

- Italian cruise ship Costa Deliziosa docked at SP-PSA Port in Ho Chi Minh City on February 22, bringing 1,959 international tourists and 892 crew members on a visit at the start of the Lunar New Year.

Border guards completed immigration procedures quickly after receiving electronic declarations in advance. Officers boarded the vessel offshore to process entry formalities and issued shore passes before the ship arrived at the port. Read full story

- Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City handled nearly 180,000 passengers on February 22, the sixth day of the Lunar New Year - the Year of the Horse, setting a new record and far exceeding the projected peak of 165,000.

According to the airport’s operation centre, a total of 1,069 flights were operated during the day, serving 177,859 passengers. The figure was well above the earlier Tet forecast, which estimated an average of 145,000 passengers per day. Read full story

- Hanoi is estimated to welcome about 1.34 million travellers during the nine-day Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday from February 14–22, up 36.3% year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.

The department reported that the capital city served 217,000 foreign tourists and 1.13 million domestic travellers during this period, representing year-on-year increases of 55% and 33.2%, respectively, while total tourism revenue reached 4.87 trillion VND (over 187.5 million USD), up 40.2%. The Party chief welcomed the positive results achieved in the negotiation process of a reciprocal trade agreement and highly appreciated the role, attention and support of the US Trade Representative.
