- Party General Secretary To Lam on February 10 met with members of the subcommittees preparing for the 14th National Party Congress and the Steering Committee tasked with reviewing theoretical and practical issues related to Vietnam's four-decade-long socialist-oriented Doi Moi (renewal) process.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 10 held phone talks with his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong to further promote and deepen the Vietnam–Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

- Vietnam attaches importance to strengthening multifaceted cooperation with Norway, as the two sides have favourable conditions to complement each other and expand mutually beneficial cooperation towards green transition and circular economy development, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung on February 10.

At a reception for Norwegian Minister of International Development Åsmund Aukrust, Trung suggested that the two sides step up political trust through the exchange of delegations at all levels via all channels, and promote Norway’s strengths and the two countries’ potential in areas such as investment-trade, agriculture, sustainable fisheries development, high technology, climate change adaptation, environmental protection and green growth, in order to further expand bilateral relations in a more substantive and effective manner.Read full story

- The People’s Daily, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China, on February 10 published an article highlighting Vietnam’s strong economic recovery and industrial diversification, with notable achievements in manufacturing, processing and services.

Citing figures from the National Statistics Office under Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance, the article said Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 8.02% year-on-year in 2025, demonstrating strong resilience amid a sluggish global economic backdrop. Read full story

- Vietnam’s total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in January was estimated at 632.4 trillion VND (24.43 billion USD), up 2.6% month-on-month and 9.3% year-on-year, according to newly released data from the National Statistics Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Finance.

The 9.3% rise matched the growth rate from the same month in 2025. Adjusted for prices, real growth came in at 6.3%. This is a very positive sign, especially since January 2026 didn’t align with the Lunar New Year, unlike last year, when the same period saw a surge in Tet-related spending. Read full story

- The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam hosted an event in Hanoi on February 10 to honour youth-led initiatives aimed at advancing safe migration and curbing human trafficking.

As part of the UK Home Office-funded project “Tackling Modern Slavery in Vietnam” (TMSV), the event drew over 200 delegates, including those from the UK Embassy, the Vietnam Women’s Union, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the private sector, social organisations, youth leaders, and media outlets.
