- Vietnam attaches great importance to and wishes to further strengthen cooperation with Japan across all fields, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 15.

Receiving Japan’s Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Hayashi Yoshimasa in Hanoi, PM Chinh expressed his pleasure at the strong, comprehensive, increasingly in-depth and substantive development of the Vietnam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, underpinned by a high level of political trust. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged ASML to accelerate the establishment of a semiconductor training, research and development centre in Vietnam, while receiving Eduard Stiphout, Senior Vice President of the Dutch corporation, in Hanoi on January 15.

The leader said the Government highly values the interest shown by the world’s leading semiconductor group in Vietnam, viewing it as clear evidence of the confidence of global technology corporations in the country’s cooperation potential and investment environment. Read full story

- The Vietnam News Agency Publishing House has released a set of three bilingual photobooks to mark the 14th National Party Congress.

Titled Viet Nam hanh phuc (Happy Vietnam), the first book features nearly 200 photographs by numerous photographers and is divided into three sections: A beautiful country; a land of festivals and tourism; and a country of peace and happiness in everyday life. Presented in both English and Vietnamese, the book offers an inspiring journey of discovering Vietnam and its people as a rich, multi-layered tapestry woven from simple yet beautiful moments of daily life. - Vietnam’s GDP growth of 8.02% in 2025 stands out as a notable achievement, reflecting the country’s strong resilience and dynamism amid a complex and volatile global economic environment, according to Xu Ningning, Chairman of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Industry Cooperation Committee.

Speaking to VNA correspondents in Beijing about Vietnam’s economic performance last year, Xu attributed the result to robust growth in manufacturing, exports and foreign direct investment. Read full story

- Ahead of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the Vietnamese community in Laos has expressed strong confidence, high expectations, and recommendations regarding the country’s development orientations in the new phase, particularly the promotion of the role, intellect, and resources of overseas Vietnamese (OV) communities.

Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, Chief of the Office of the Association of Vietnamese People in Vientiane, said that for OV intellectuals to return and contribute effectively and sustainably to the Fatherland, it is not enough to rely on calls for participation or incentive policies alone.
