- Vietnam remains firmly committed to being a proactive, active and responsible member of ASEAN’s digital cooperation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed while addressing the opening ceremony of the 6th ASEAN Digital Ministers' Meeting (ADGMIN 6) and related meetings in Hanoi on January 15.

The PM called for more comprehensive regional collaboration built on transparency, mutual trust and respect to help shape a united, resilient and prosperous ASEAN digital community. Read full story

- Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung on January 14 hosted a reception for ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn, who is on a visit to Vietnam to attend the 6th ASEAN Digital Ministers Meeting (ADGMIN).

Trung spoke highly of the active role and significant contributions of the ASEAN Secretary-General and the ASEAN Secretariat to the bloc’s common work, as well as their continued support for and close cooperation with Vietnam in recent years. Read full story

- Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hue city Nguyen Khac Toan on January 15 granted in-principle approval to an investment project to build Wharf No.6 at Chan May Port in the Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone.

The project will cover more than 15.5 hectares, including over 13.2 hectares of land and nearly 2.3 hectares of water surface. It will feature a pier for general cargo, container, bulk and liquid goods vessels up to 70,000 tonnes, along with two additional piers for ships up to 10,000 tonnes, supported by technical infrastructure, warehouses, machinery, and equipment to ensure efficient cargo handling. - The People’s Committee of Lam Dong province has issued a plan to implement the master plan on developing the Mui Ne National Tourism Area through 2040, with a vision to 2050, aiming to transform Mui Ne into one of the leading destinations in the Asia-Pacific region.

Under the plan, relevant agencies are required to review, develop and adjust urban and rural planning schemes to ensure consistency with the two-tier local administration structure and the overall development orientation of the Mui Ne National Tourism Area. The adjustments must minimise disruption to ongoing investment projects while meeting progress and quality requirements. Read full story

- A cooperation agreement on airline ticket payments via UNITEL services was signed on January 13 in Vientiane, Laos between Star Fintech, a member of Star Telecom (Unitel) – a Viettel joint venture in Laos, and Lao Airlines, the national carrier of Laos.

Under the agreement, payments for Lao Airlines tickets will be made through the Umoney e-wallet provided by Star Fintech. The partnership marks an important step forward in Laos’ aviation digital transformation roadmap, while helping remove long-standing monopolistic barriers in the country’s airline payment system. - A ceremony to see off the Vietnamese sport delegation to compete at the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Thailand from January 15-27, was held at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on January 15.

ASEAN Para Games 13 will bring together 11 Southeast Asian nations and feature 19 sports with over 500 events, many to be put under the supervision of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). Read full story./.

Dak Lak must link Central Highlands with south central coast: Party chief

Party chief extends Tet greetings to border guards in Dak Lak province

The Party leader acknowledged and highly valued the strong sense of responsibility and perseverance of the station’s officers and soldiers. Despite being stationed in a border area with many difficulties, they have remained steadfast at their posts, focused on building a regular, green, clean and beautiful unit, promoted production activities, and gradually improved the material and spiritual lives of the troops.

Official stresses proactive implementation of 14th Party Congress Resolution in foreign affairs

The foreign policy of the 14th Congress represents both continuity and development. It inherits the fundamental objectives, principles and approaches affirmed over previous congresses, namely independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, development, multilateralisation and diversification, while introducing new dimensions to meet the country’s Fatherland construction and safeguarding requirements in the new era.
