– Party General Secretary and State President To Lam on July 13 called for building a professional, elite, modern and humane prison management police force, stressing that the biggest success of the prison system lies not only in ensuring secure detention but also in helping offenders successfully reintegrate into society.

The Party and State leader made the remarks during a visit to and working session with the Police Department of Prison, Correctional Institution and Juvenile Reformatory Management under the Ministry of Public Security, on the occasion of the 64th traditional day of the People's Police Force (July 20, 1962–2026). – Prime Minister Le Minh Hung received Jennifer Wicks, US Ambassador to Vietnam, who paid a courtesy call on July 13 at the start of her diplomatic tenure in the country.

– Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang is paying an official visit to Japan from July 12 to 15, with Japanese Defence Minister Shinjiro Koizumi hosting a welcome ceremony for him on July 13.

During his meeting with Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara Minoru, Giang reaffirmed that Vietnam always regards Japan as one of its leading and long-term partners, and supports the country's increasingly active role in promoting peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world. He expressed his hope that the two countries will strengthen cooperation in pursuit of their shared goal of strategic autonomy. Read full story

– Military academies and educational institutions of Vietnam and China should strengthen education on the tradition of good neighbourliness and friendship between the two countries, said General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence.

Cuong made the remarks in Hanoi on July 13 while receiving a visiting delegation from China's National Defence University, led by Major General Liu Kai, director of its political department. Read full story

– The Department for Roads of Vietnam, in coordination with Cambodia's Ministry of Public Works and Transport, on July 13 conducted a joint field survey at the Tan Nam International Border Gate in Vietnam's southern province of Tay Ninh and the Meun Chey International Border Gate in Cambodia's Prey Veng province.

The survey aimed to review the implementation of the two countries’ road transport agreement and assess conditions for launching international cross-border road transport through the Tan Nam–Meun Chey border gate pair. Read full story

– Vietnamese authorities, in coordination with Indian diplomatic missions, on July 13 completed procedures to repatriate the bodies of 15 Indian tourists who died in the speedboat capsize off Phu Quoc Island in the southern province of An Giang two days ago.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of External Relations, the mortal remains were handed over to the Indian side and transported on a flight departing at 18:00 for their homeland, in accordance with the wishes of the victims' families. Read full story./.

In the coming days, the MoFA will continue to work closely with the An Giang provincial People’s Committee, the Phu Quoc Special Zone, relevant agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in India, the Embassy of India in Hanoi and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City to closely monitor the situation, carry out consular and citizen protection work, and repatriate the bodies of the deceased tourists to India in accordance with the wishes of their families as soon as possible.

Vietnam seeks stronger economic links with Egypt's Red Sea Governorate

Vietnam, Belgium boost parliamentary cooperation, deepen bilateral relations

Toi called on the Belgian Senate to continue supporting stronger Vietnam-EU relations, including the effective implementation of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), and promoting the European Commission's early removal of its "yellow card" warning against Vietnamese seafood exports, in recognition of Vietnam's efforts to improve its legal framework and promote sustainable fisheries management.

Senior military officer inspects martyrs’ remains search at Le Thị Rieng Park

Nghia described the ongoing 500-day campaign as a sacred mission that embodies the Vietnamese tradition of remembering those who served and sacrificed for the nation. PM calls for building elite, professional international search and rescue force

During its mission from June 29 to July 7, the team worked around the clock under extremely hazardous conditions amid heavily damaged and contaminated disaster zones. Despite the challenges, rescue personnel recovered 57 victims' bodies and handed them over to local authorities and families. They also identified and reported several suspected locations where additional victims might be trapped.
