– Party General Secretary To Lam chaired a working session in Hanoi on September 18 with the Standing Board of the Government’s Party Committee to discuss some contents of the bills of the Land Law (revised), the Planning Law, the Law on Urban and Rural Planning, and the Investment Law.

Speaking at the event, General Secretary Lam described the bills as major, complex issues demanding brainpower to address real-world obstacles and ensure legal consistency, with the goal of unlocking resources and turning institutions and laws into a competitive edge for economic growth. – State President Luong Cuong on September 18 hosted a reception in Hanoi for Pauline Tamesis, United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Vietnam, and heads of UN agencies in the country, ahead of his trip to New York to attend the High-level General Debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The President expressed delight at the strong growth of Vietnam – UN cooperation, underlining that the UN has always been a close companion in Vietnam’s development journey. He highly valued the role and support of UN agencies in advancing development goals, particularly in pandemic response, socio-economic recovery, climate change adaptation, disaster relief – most recently Typhoon Yagi – and in promoting a just energy transition. – Vietnam will ensure that funding and investment sources in the country develop in a safe, healthy, and effective manner, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told Kenji Okamura, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at their meeting in Hanoi on September 18.

– Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man proposed three important priority areas for the ASEAN Inter‑Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) to focus on in the coming time while addressing the first plenary session of the 46th AIPA General Assembly (AIPA-46) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on September 18.

Among the priorities, NA Chairman Man said that AIPA needs to promote its role in fostering more effective regional cooperation, particularly strengthening its role as a bridge, encouraging and creating favourable conditions for social strata and stakeholders to actively contribute to the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045; taking the lead in building institutions and policies to ensure that regional commitments and agreements are effectively implemented in practice, especially in the fields of science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation. – NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Vice President of the Lao National Assembly Sounthone Xayachack on the sidelines of the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter‑Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on September 18.

NA Chairman Man congratulated Laos on its great and comprehensive achievements in recent times, affirming that Vietnam consistently gives the highest priority to its special solidarity with Laos, and will stand side by side with and strongly support Laos in its cause of renewal, and national construction and defence. Tea Seiha, and Mongolian Minister of Defence Batlut Damba on the sidelines of the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum on September 18.

In his talks with Dong, Giang thanked the Chinese minister for his invitation to attend and speak at the forum, which, after 12 editions, has affirmed its role as a leading platform gathering senior leaders, experts and scholars from across the region and the world. Read full story

– Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien met with Indonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin in Jakarta on September 18, during which the latter agreed on the need to make defence cooperation more substantive, particularly in strengthening ties between the navies, air forces, and coast guards as well as in training.

Top legislators of Vietnam, Türkiye meet on sidelines of IPU-152 in Istanbul

Vietnam, China sign 32 cooperation documents

The documents include a cooperation plan between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) for the 2026–2030 period; a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Organisation Commission of the CPV Central Committee and its Chinese counterpart; and a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee.
